Holdup on a High Street

One time in the city, a homeless man approached me and a buddy on the street and asked us for some spare change. We’re both sixteen and buzzed on some beers we’d drunk at a bar that didn’t ask for ID.

When we don’t have any change for him he tells us he has a gun and not to yell out or he’ll shoot us dead.

He walks us to a cashpoint and gets my buddy to try and withdraw money he doesn’t have. When this doesn’t work he walks us around the streets a while hoping we’ll crack and hand over money he thinks we’re hiding.

When he starts to walk us into an Underground station he cracks a grin and plays the whole scenario off as a joke.

We laugh nervously, giving him a cigarette before he walks away, taking our buzz along with him.
